Experiences At The Hairdressers
So my most viewed post for quite a while has been "Reason I Hate the Hairdressers". Maybe this means it's not just me that doesn't enjoy going!

But this post is a few things I have experienced whilst in a hairdressers (I go to different hairdressers near enough every cut - once a year - so these posts don't reflect on any individual hairdresser). As said in my last hairdressers related post, I haven't had anything dramatically bad happen to me, but we can all have a giggle!

1. A hairdresser once said to me "I basically eat to survive, I wouldn't eat if I didn't have to" ????? !!!!! Needless to say I was speechless, I think I'm actually the opposite, maybe more "I stop eating to survive". This of course isn't at all related hairdressing but I was so shocked!

2. So the last hairdressers I went to, my mum was having her hair cut and the lady was talking to us both and she asked the usual question of:
"so are you going anywhere nice tonight" (because we were having our haircut)
Me - "no I went out last night so feeling a little tender today"
Hairdresser - "oh... how old are you?"
Me - "22"
Hairdresser - "oh wow I didn't think you were old enough to drink!"
I know I've gone to the hairdressers with my mum but surely I don't look under 18 to anybody that isn't a bouncer! --- ok maybe I do - It hasn't got much better from being 20!

3. Every hairdresser ever "wow haven't you got a lot of hair!" Yes I realise you're bored of drying it, I get bored of drying it all the time, but just be glad, it's so straight you won't have to do any styling with it afterwards! However thanks for noticing my abnormally large head.

4. One hairdresser, after washing and combing my hair said to me "Are you shedding at the moment?" Am I a snake? Am I a dog? I told her I always lose hair a lot to which she said "oh that's ok then" while lifting her hand full of my hair that had come out whilst combing it, lots of hair/big head problems, #oops.
However, anybody with the problem of their hair falling out a lot, I've found mine falls out a lot less when I don't use Tresemme shampoo, and especially the conditioner!

5. When being asked what I want my hair like I said "I want it to be quite low maintenance" she then responds with "oh that's unusual for someone of your age" Yes thank you, I am lazy, you're lucky I brush it now.

Has anybody else had any funny experiences at the hairdressers?

Thanks for reading!

My Top 5 Apps (at the moment!)
Hi!

Recently I seem be even more involved with my phone/tablet, more so than on my laptop! (still not to use blogger though, lets not get into the discussions about the blogger app). So I'm starting to realise the apps that I use to most, or maybe not even the most, just my favourites!

1. Instagram - of course! I tell myself all the time that I will post more pictures on it but I spend a lot more time lurking than posting! I just get totally sucked into it, there's so much new to look at everyday! At @racheleiwood if anyone wants to follow me!

2. Snapchat - for most people this is firmly one of their favourites, but most people I know will know I am rubbish with snapchat, I rarely reply or send anything at all! But the filters that have been available lately have been hilarious! Me and my friends are always playing with them when we're out and I always check every day for new ones! Check out these Selfies!

Spring Forward
Once again another month has been and (nearly) gone. So I'm just going to do a quick post of things that have happened for me in March! I hope you enjoyed March and let's get going with the warmer part of the year!

- Had heavy snowfall, it took me and my mum an hour to do a 10 minute drive to work!

- Played with face swap until crying laughing

Mother's Day Trip

For mothers day, my mum and me went to a local garden centre and had afternoon tea (just in time, they stopped serving it at 2:30 and we ordered at 2:30 - not very good at planning ahead!). Afternoon tea maybe wasn't the most original idea as there seemed to be pictures of everybody having afternoon tea!

Picture of my lovely mum enjoying her afternoon tea, you never think you'll be full of little sandwiches and cakes but somehow you are!

And her picture of me, so flattering. Several chins and no eyes apparently, that's ignoring the circle over my face! However, cheeky NARS lipstick on there

British Weather

For the past couple of years I've found myself becoming more and more obsessed with looking at the weather. Is it going to snow? Is it going to rain (99% chance that's a yes) Will we have a nice day? (no) A warm day? (no)

Realistically, living in the UK, you're not going to know. No matter how many times you check your chosen weather app there's only about a 50% or less chance of it being right! The app I use is the BBC one, when I had an iPhone, I found that their built in weather was always wrong. I actually planned my life around whatever the opposite of what it said was. The Met Office app I find way confusing, it tells me toooooo many different things!

Book Reviews

Here's a new one for me, a book review (well three - kind of). Normally when I read book reviews on blogs they're all super positive but unfortunately I'm going to do things a little differently! (no surprises there then!) I had some clever idea to make the title of this post a combination of the three books I was going to review, "Us Bone Clocks on the Train", it was a lot less clever than I originally thought so now you get a boring title.

The Girl On The Train - Paul Hawkins

I bet every book lover has read this or at least heard of this by now, I'd wanted to read this for a while since finishing Gone Girl as I'd heard so many people mention it in line with that book. And as it is being made into a film I thought I would actually read the book before watching the film (because that's what we all want really!)

I've never been a fan of reviews being big plot descriptions - they end up giving too much away. But here's a brief idea. The main character is Rachel (I didn't even know before I read the book!) and she gets on a train every day (I even impress myself with my descriptive skills) She's filled with heartbreak, an ex-husband, a drinking problem and various other issues that develop through the book. She's a very relatable character, which makes for a good narrative voice. The book is well written, believable relatable characters (mostly, some seem a little far-fetched but hey it's a novel we like a bit of that!), and doesn't give away too much or too little. There is a murder in the book and honestly, even though I like to see myself as quite savvy, I really didn't guess it until quite late on! I read the book in like 2 days, I was hooked so quickly!

Definitely recommend, and it's not massively long!
4/5 (a four because it's not writing genius but god it was good!)

Audacious Audrey

Last week I had a bit of a naughty spend but god was it worth it! This is a post totally dedicated to an expensive lipstick, so I'm completely not offended if you non-lipstick-lovers headed off now!

I'm sure we've all heard of NARS by now (if not, it's a make-up brand sold in Selfridges - and maybe other places I don't know! - with similar prices to MAC - if you haven't heard of MAC start googling)

There was a colour I have been after for ages now, I still haven't matched it completely but for now it's the closest I could find and it's so pretty.
