British Weather

For the past couple of years I've found myself becoming more and more obsessed with looking at the weather. Is it going to snow? Is it going to rain (99% chance that's a yes) Will we have a nice day? (no) A warm day? (no)

Realistically, living in the UK, you're not going to know. No matter how many times you check your chosen weather app there's only about a 50% or less chance of it being right! The app I use is the BBC one, when I had an iPhone, I found that their built in weather was always wrong. I actually planned my life around whatever the opposite of what it said was. The Met Office app I find way confusing, it tells me toooooo many different things!

What's the reason for my obsessive weather checking, is it my age? Is 20 the ripe old age when you start talking about the weather. Or is it working with real life adults full time that has progressed my conversation topic body clock about 30 years?

Perhaps it's vanity, wanting to be dressed ready for the weather so you don't end up looking like a drowned rat, or having pretty sweat patches.

Is it my absolute dread of snow? I'm not ready to talk about this screen shot below.

Whatever is causing my obsessive weather checking, I don't think it's going anywhere, the fact that it changes everyday in the UK, (hour by hour a lot of the time!) means there's a lot to look at.

Have you found that you obsessively check the weather?

Thanks for Reading

  1. I always obsessively check the weather - although I have to admit I'm not really sure why either! I think realistically, it's probably just because English smalltalk relies so heavily on it...
